The Anaheim Ducks dealt with a tough blow recently as they announced injuries to two of their top prospects, Beckett Sennecke and Tomas Suchanek.

Sennecke will be sidelined for 6 to 8 weeks after sustaining a foot fracture during his offseason workouts. Meanwhile, Suchanek had surgery to repair a torn ACL and is expected to be out for around 6 to 8 months.

Fans have taken to social media to express their frustration, with one commenting:

"Ducks literally have the single worst injury luck in the league. Either that or their doctors are just shiet. And need to be changed."

Another fan wrote:

"Why Hockey gods why??? Why do you want players and fans to suffer. Take care guys and can’t wait to see you playing hockey soon"

Here are some more fan reactions on X (formerly Twitter):

"Always fun when you start to get injury updates two weeks before training camp… SHEESH," wrote @jmacthebirdnerd.
"That sucks. Never wanna see young player hurt like that. Especially before they even attend the camp," said @PierreLucMathi1.
"Wtf is with this team!!!! Cursed," commented @CDuck4u.
"Sennecke is going to be a f**** huge bust. You heard it here first," claimed @Dylantheflamez.

Sennecke scored 27 goals and had 41 assists, totaling 68 points in 63 games for the Oshawa Generals in the 2023-24 OHL season. Meanwhile, Suchanek played for the San Diego Gulls, the Anaheim Ducks' AHL team, with a 12-6-3 record and a .919 save percentage last season.

Beckett Sennecke's reaction after getting drafted by the Anaheim Ducks

The 2024 NHL Draft was a surreal moment for 18-year-old Beckett Sennecke. As his name was called by the Anaheim Ducks, Sennecke was overcome with shock and emotion.

"To my dad, I just said, ‘Oh, my God, oh, my God!’ And then to my mom, I said, ‘Oh, my God, oh, my God.’ And then I saw my mom and my sister, and they all started crying," Sennecke recalled to The Athletic.

In his excitement, some expletives slipped out, which brought some laughter to the Anaheim Ducks GM Pat Verbeek.

"Pretty authentic. It’s always exciting to see a moment like that. Brings back a lot of memories," Verbeek said.

Verbeek praised the young player's versatility and skill set.

"What we loved about the player is his skating ability. His hockey sense, obviously. You’ve seen some highlights. His individual skill level is really off the charts," Verbeek explained.

Verbeek also emphasized Sennecke's adaptability on the ice, noting his ability to excel in various playing styles.
