NHL fans online reacted to Sportsnet analyst Kevin Bieksa unloading on Edmonton media during a post-game segment after the Edmonton Oilers 5-2 win over the Dallas Stars in Game 4 of the Western Conference final series on Wednesday.
Bieksa was discussing defenseman Darnell Nurse and used some hard words in describing the Edmonton media as "meat," "raw, dead, dumb" live on TV. Here's what Bieksa said (via Sportsnet on X):
"You think about his day. He gets to the rink, and he has to meet with the Edmonton meat - that's what I call the media because they're raw, dead and dumb."
He continued:
"To answer questions about his play, his plus minus from all these guys who are looking at game sheets and what does he do? He goes out there - has a really shaky start, and not that it's his fault. But he's on the ice for a 2-on-1. Plays it fine, -1. Then he has one go off his butt and in, -2."
"He keeps playing, he stays aggressive, he plays physical and has an amazing game for them," Kevin Bieksa added.
Here's what fans on X (formerly Twitter) said about Kevin Bieksa's comments regarding the Edmonton media. One tweeted:
"Hell yeah Bieksa spittin truth bombs"
Another fan chimed in and directed Bieksa's comments towards a specific reporter:
"Spec deserved that one."
"These four guys are like the Oilers Cheer Leaders how they go on about Oilers is sickening. I had to mute them. Making me mcpuke," one fan disagreeing with Bieksa's opinion said.
Here are some of the other reactions on X, with many agreeing with Kevin Bieksa's remarks aimed at the Edmonton media. Another fan said:
"Bieksa saying what needs to be said"
"I feel like Bieksa thinks the same way we all do about Spec," one fan opined.
