The Tampa Bay Lightning snapped their five-game losing streak with a convincing 5-2 victory over the struggling Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday.
While the win came against one of the worst teams in the NHL, the Bolts are optimistic that this could be the turning point they need to regain their form. They need to turn things around and make a strong push towards the playoffs.
It was a rough weekend for the former back-to-back Stanley Cup champions, as they suffered two consecutive defeats in disappointing fashion. The Bolts were outplayed by the Buffalo Sabres in a 5-3 loss on Saturday, only to follow that up with an embarrassing 6-0 defeat to the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday.
According to NHL insider JP Peterson, Stamkos, Kucherov, and Vasilevskiy are instrumental to the Tampa Bay Lightning's chances. Speaking on the "Ballfather Podcast by Sportskeeda," he said:
"Stamkos, Kucherov and Vasileyskiy are winners."
He continued, optimistic about their additions:
"But I think I'm cautiously optimistic about the additions. But they got to find their mojo again they got to find their energy.
"They got to find that that reason to play their ass off it's it's hard when you've had this much success. But it wouldn't shock me if Vasilevsky goes gets back to playing the way he can play as the best goalie on the planet then they got a they got a shot to win every series."
Steven Stamkos, the team's captain, is a skilled, dynamic forward with a knack for scoring goals when it matters most. Nikita Kucherov, meanwhile, is one of the league's most talented players, with lethal shots and exceptional playmaking abilities. Andrei Vasilevskiy, the team's star goaltender, has proven time and time again that he is one of the best netminders in the NHL.
Together, these three players form the core of a Tampa Bay Lightning team that has consistently been among the best in the league in recent years. With their leadership and competitive spirit, Tampa Bay have established themselves as one of the most successful franchises in the NHL today.
