Patrik Laine’s fiancee Jordan Leigh recently shared a humorous story with her followers on Instagram. Leigh narrated how she accidentally scared Laine at night after the Habs forward returned home following the team’s away game streak.

In a video posted on Sunday, Leight explained that Laine and his team had been traveling a lot lately, with back-to-back road trips. She had grown used to sleeping alone during his time away.

“Okay, story time. I am up so late today and I haven't gotten up this late in a very long time but I slept so poorly last night. The guys have been on the road for the past couple of weeks or they've had a two-week long road trip and then a one-week long road trip lately and Patty just started being home for all the home games this week and so I've gotten used to sleeping on my own, right? My body is adjusted to that,” she said.
“So last night in the middle of the night, I wake up. I think I had a bad dream or something and for some reason my brain didn't register that Patty was home because I'm used to being by myself lately and I see this figure sleeping in my bed next to me and I started screaming like bloody murder. Like it terrified me, terrified me so bad.”

Jordan said she had been uneasy lately because of news about break-ins at athletes' homes while they were traveling.

“I don't know if it's in my brain all of the different athlete houses that have been getting broken into while the guys are on road trips in the U.S. right now or what the heck is going on but I hope that I snap out of that soon for my sake and for Patty's sake,” she concluded.

Patrik Laine awarded the Molson Trophy for December performance

Earlier last week, Patrik Laine received the Molson Cup for December. The award was presented at the Bell Centre before the game against the Dallas Stars. Laine’s fiancee Jordan Leigh was in attendance at the arena during the ceremony and shared a clip of the moment on her Instagram stories

Laine had an impressive December, earning four first-star honors (Dec. 3, 9, 17, and 20) and one third-star honor (Dec. 5). In 13 games, he recorded 10 points with eight goals and two assists, leading the NHL with eight power-play goals for the month.

Laine made his Canadiens debut on Dec. 3, scoring his first goal with the team against the Islanders. He notched his 11th career hat trick on Dec. 7 against Buffalo, which placed him third among Finnish players in career NHL hat tricks.
