NHL fans were shocked by rumors of Jeff Marek leaving Sportsnet and Hockey Night in Canada. Multiple sources including Daily Hive reported about Marek's departure.
A sports insider on X, who goes by the name 'Jonah' shared:
"Details are scarce but multiple sources tell me that for unconfirmed draft reasons, @JeffMarek will likely be no longer performing duties at Sportnet hockey. Details to follow. This would appear to include his podcast duties too."
This prompted NHL fans to share their opinions on X:
"Huge loss and huge mistake if true. The 32 Thoughts podcast is fantastic," one fan wrote.
"Sucks to hear if true. Jeff will land on his feet though. Would be incredible for TSN to snag him if he’s a FA," another fan said.
"Yeah I knew that was coming. He and Elliotte went dead silent after Draft Day - very unusual for them - re: their podcast 32 Thoughts. They are both so good at getting back to listeners. Jeff also hasn’t posted a thing since Draft Day," a fan detailed,
Here are some more reactions from fans on X:
"Shocker! Cuts or something else," one fan questioned.
"How are we going to find out what 'draft reasons' are without 32 thoughts to break the story!" another fan said.
"NO WAYYYYY," a fan said.
"Damn, hope he goes to TSN. Or maybe Amazon for the Monday games…either way he should be back in no time! We need more Gryphon alumni on the air," one fan speculated,
