The Buffalo Sabres coach provides an update on Tage Thompson's injury
The Sabres had to miss Tage Thompson's services during the 5-2 loss to the Boston Bruins (12-1-2) on Tuesday. The 26-year-old was injured during the second period and was later ruled out by the team for the remaining game.
Thompson injured his wrist while blocking a shot from Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy, resulting in him leaving for the locker in significant pain. Thompson was also injured in the first period after taking a cut from McAvoy's skate, but fortunately, he was fine to return to the game.
Following the game, Sabres coach Don Granato provided an update on Tage Thompson's injury and stated that he could miss a significant amount of time:
"Tage is going to miss some time here, probably significant time, unfortunately," Sabres coach Don Granato said. "He fought through the first injury but couldn't fight through the second one. Credit to him to battle but it's unfortunate."
The Buffalo Sabres (7-8-1) will next be in action against the Winnipeg Jets (8-5-2) on Friday, Nov. 17. The puck drops at 8 p.m. ET.
