Notably, 24-year-old Abigail Boreen, a native of Wisconsin, has a special connection with both Taylor Heise and Cava. Boreen played her first season of the Professional Women's Hockey League as a reserve player for the Minnesota Frost under a 10-day Standard Player Agreement.

Boreen scored four goals and one assist in her nine-game stint with the Frost, who eventually won the Walter Cup.

During the 2024 PWHL draft on June 10, Boreen anticipated signing a full-time contract with the Frost. However, Minnesota defied expectations and declined to pick Boreen in the first, second or third round. Ultimately. Abigail Boreen was selected 17th overall in the third round and signed a three-year contract with the Montreal Victoire.
