Taylor Heise is one of the best hockey players on the planet, but she is also a big fan of Kehlani. The Grammy-nominated singer held a concert in Minneapolis that the PWHL Minnesota star attended and got to go backstage.
Heise posted a TikTok video that began by showing off the outfit selection at home before heading to the concert. The video showed her walking to the venue, as the hockey star sang along to some songs on the way.
There were clips of the concert as well, before Heise revealed that they had made it backstage and were about to meet Kehlani. She and her friend were hardly able to hide their excitement. The pair interacted with the singer and other fans. Heise took a pic with the singer as well.
She shared the video on her TikTok account which had 6,663 followers. The video had over 100 likes and a few shares at the time of writing.
Taylor Heise gets praise from GM
Taylor Heise was the first overall selection in the 2023 draft, so she had high expectations. She hasn't quite lived up to the hype, as there was an adjustment period to the new level of competition coming out off of college.
She said, via the Athletic:
“College and this league are very, very different. In this league, if you have the puck on your stick for more than two seconds, you’re going to have someone on you.”
Her team PWHL Minnesota's GM, Natalie Darwitz, praised her despite the seeming downtick in production:
“In this league, everybody’s so good and they’re going to have a game plan against you. I think she’s dealing with a higher caliber of that, so you’re not seeing the University of Minnesota highlight-reel goals every other night. You’re just seeing them every five nights, every six nights instead.”
While she didn't have the numbers she would have wanted, the transition wasn't that difficult. Heise helped propel her team to the first Walter Cup win. She had a terrific college career and she has already achieved the highest level of team success at the professional level as well. All that remains is to impress further with her personal accolades.
