DeBrusk had 19 goals and 21 assists in 80 games last season, just missing a third consecutive 20-goal season. He is expected to play a top-six role with either Elias Pettersson or JT Miller.

DeBrusk played all seven years of his NHL career with the Boston Bruins, scoring 266 points in 465 games. He was drafted 14th overall by Boston in 2015. His status with the Bruins was uncertain, with frequent trade rumors and a trade request in 2022, which he later withdrew.

DeBrusk's recent two-year deal with Boston had a $4 million cap hit. The Canucks needed to strengthen their left wing in free agency, targeting Guentzel initially. Now, fans look forward to DeBrusk's impact on the team's offense.
