Jonathan Toews, former captain of the Chicago Blackhawks, shared his thoughts on possibly returning to the NHL. After stepping away from hockey in August 2023 to focus on his health, Toews has not ruled out a comeback. In an interview that was published by GQ on Sunday, he said:

"There’s a part of me that really doesn’t feel like my career is over yet, and who knows what this next part of the journey looks like, as far as getting back on the ice and trying to make a return to the NHL."

Toews has battled chronic inflammatory response syndrome (CIRS) and long COVID, which caused him to miss time. He also traveled to India for treatments to improve his health.

Following his statement, fans reacted on X. Some suggested he could fit well with the Winnipeg Jets, while others thought he could help in a playoff run. However, a few fans were concerned about his health and whether he could make a successful return.

"Maple leafs calling," another fan commented.
"Yikes. I respect what he did for the city. I don’t think he’s well. I think he’d struggle to find his way back," one X user said.
