Oilers captain Connor McDavid’s wife, Lauren Kyle, has been invested in setting up her business ventures in downtown Edmonton. On Friday, she shared a glimpse into a package of bespoke baked snacks she received from an Edmonton Bakery service.
Lauren posted a photo featuring a collection of custom-decorated cookies by The Midnight Sprinkles on her Instagram stories. In the caption, she wrote:
“I’m in love!! These are adorable!!! Thank you @themidnightsprinkles”
The cookies were beautifully custom-decorated with various themes related to Lauren Kyle’s latest business ventures. One cookie featured the branding for her upcoming bar, “Bar Trove.” At the same time, another showed “Trove Living,” her furniture showroom, with an art of the Canada Permanent Building and Trove Living’s tagline “Curating Timeless Elegance.”
Other cookies featured Edmonton Oilers-themed designs, and one represented Lauren’s “Sports Club Atelier” apparel line. Last month, she launched the fashion label in collaboration with the Oilers. The cookie collection included sweater-themed cookies with Oilers logos and branding.
Connor McDavid’s wife Lauren posts hiring alerts for Bar Trove
Earlier Friday, Lauren Kyle shared job hiring alerts for her new business venture - Bar Trove - in the Canada Permanent Building in downtown Edmonton. The hiring positions listed were Bartender and Server. Lauren posted the job listings on her Instagram stories, including job requirements and application contact details.
Lauren is actively involved in the setup process. She recently tested natural wines and gluten-free beers for the restaurant’s menu and shared updates on her stories. Some of the wines she featured included Le Puy Emilien 2020, Beurer Riesling Trocken 2022, and Raspa Moscatel y Doradilla 2022. The bar will offer a French-inspired menu with local ingredients and a cocktail list crafted by a Toronto consultant.
The Canada Permanent Building, with a history spanning over 115 years, will accommodate the restaurant and furniture showroom, Trove Living. The showroom will display eight to ten furniture arrangements, enabling clients to envision how pieces would look in actual home environments. In an interview with the Edmonton Journal, Lauren shared insights about their vision for the showroom designs.
“We really wanted to design the space so it felt like a very intentional, well-designed vignettes of different living spaces. We just want every section to feel like its own little room so you can really visualize what the pieces would look like in your own home,” she said.
Lauren Kyle also mentioned that she chose the location for its rich history and unique architecture. The bar and furniture showroom will launch in early April 2025.
