The New York Rangers lost 7-5 to the Seattle Kraken at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. Philipp Grubauer made 32 saves for the Kraken, who finished their road trip 3-1-0. Oliver Bjorkstrand led Seattle with two goals and two assists.

The Rangers started strong but couldn’t hold their momentum. They rallied late to tie the game 5-5 but made costly mistakes, including giving up an empty-net goal.

New York Rangers’ official X account posted at full-time: "Final. Back at it tomorrow," leading to fan frustration.

"Disgraceful performance. Started well but choked. Late push, then handed them an empty-net goal," one fan commented.
"Time to explore that Brady Tkachuk trade," another said.
"Lindgren and Miller need to be traded tonight, they are the two worst players on the team, and they drag the team down anytime they’re on the ice," a fan shared.

Here are some more reactions from fans on X:

"Good start, rough ending, figure it out boys!! till next time, LGFR!!!!" a fan tweeted.
"Sorry to say it because I love Quicky, but, that game was totally on Quick with some help from the sloppy D IMO," another fan posted.
"They honestly played really well tonight, Quick gotta bail us out AT LEAST once… like cmon… you cannot let a shot from the blue line through… especially when you’re not even screened," one fan mentioned.

New York will need to improve against the Chicago Blackhawks in its next game.

New York Rangers lost a 3-1 lead to Seattle en route to a 7-5 defeat

Reilly Smith gave the New York Rangers a 1-0 lead at 3:38 of the first period. In the second, Oliver Bjorkstrand tied it 1-1 with a power-play goal. Filip Chytil restored the Rangers' lead with a snapshot, and Vincent Trocheck made it 3-1.

New York coach Peter Laviolette called Seattle's goals mere chances.

"Seattle's goals were their chances ... that was it," Laviolette said, per NHL. "We had the pieces in place and when it came down to the point where it had to be defended, it got loose so that's definitely not what you're looking for. You're in charge of a game 3-1 and their chances were the goals. We could have been better and tighter in those situations."

Seattle responded with three quick goals from Brandon Tanev, Eeli Tolvanen and Bjorkstrand to make it 4-3. Vince Dunn’s slap shot at 1:00 of the third made it 5-3, and Shane Wright, scored extending the 6-3 lead.

NYR rallied with goals from K'Andre Miller (12:27) and Alexis Lafrenière (14:57). Yanni Gourde sealed Seattle’s 7-5 win with an empty-net goal.
