Hockey fans took to social media to express their disapproval of the recent Top 16 NHL coach rankings released by NHL.com. The list is topped by Jon Cooper (230 points), the two-time Stanley Cup winner with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

However, many fans voiced their disbelief regarding the lower rankings of several other coaches with the likes of Rick Tocchet (107 points) and Jared Bednar (148 points), arguing that they deserved to be placed higher on the list.

Here's how fans on X/Twitter reacted to the Top 16 NHLcoach rankings by NHL.com.

One fan tweeted:

"Tocchet disrespected."

Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet and the winner of the 2023-24 Jack Adams as the NHL's best coach of the year, is ranked No. 10 on the list.

"Bednar should be higher," another fan chimed in.

Colorado Avalanche coach Jared Bednar is placed No. 8 on the list.

Here are some more reactions from fans on X:

"Jared Bednar has to be the most underrated head coach in the league. Long tenure, championships at every level, and a strong record despite having a nightmare season dumped in his lap at the last second in his first season as an NHL head coach. What more does he need to do?" one fan asked.
"Seems like the second longest tenure in the league and cup should get a guy better than eighth," another fan opined.
"If we're power ranking coaches, any coach who has won a cup in the last five years should automatically be ahead of one who hasn't. I'm an Avalanche fan, but Bednar seems really low to me considering his accomplishments," one fan said.
"Maurice should be number one honestly. Cooper is a great coach but shouldn’t number one be the coach who won the Stanley cup?" another fan said.

Paul Maurice ranks 2nd in Top 16 NHL coach rankings

With 221 points, Florida Panthers coach Paul Maurice trails Jon Cooper by nine points in NHL.com's Top 16 NHL coach rankings. Maurice helped the Panthers win the 2024 Stanley Cup after defeating the Edmonton Oilers in the Finals.
