Travis Konecny had a heated exchange with former Flyers rookie Cutter Gauthier during Saturday's game against the Anaheim Ducks. The moment happened in the second period with 9:31 minutes remaining.
At that moment, the Flyers were leading 2-0 at Wells Fargo Center. Fans loudly booed Gauthier, and Konecny addressed the situation after the game.
"I mean, the crowd's doing it all. I mean, it's been a lot of fun playing tonight,” Konecny said.
“I don't know the kid. We're just giving him a hard time. I think you know, when you come and be a Flyer, you don't really understand till you're here, and it means a lot. So I mean his loss, and I mean on to the next. We don't really care."
Konecny also talked about the team’s need to focus despite the feisty atmosphere.
"I think we got to get back to our game a little bit," Konecny said, "We lost it. I mean, we're still engaged, as far as you know, the after whistle stuff, but we got to kind of shut that down and get back to our game.
"We kind of slipped up there and got a lucky break with ... there just kind of gave us a little bit of momentum back. But we got to get back to where we were playing at the start.
The Flyers stayed ahead and showed their determination throughout the game. Konecny’s comments reflected the team’s pride and focus.
