At the start of the second period, Zegras had to be helped off the ice and to the locker room after an awkward fall during a faceoff. The team later announced that Zegras suffered a lower-body injury and would not return to the game.
"Injury update: Trevor Zegras has a lower body injury and will not return to tonight's game."
Zegras clocked 6:08 of ice time during his seven shifts before exiting the game. The 23-year-old has racked up 10 points through four goals and six assists in 23 games for the Ducks this season.
