Unfazed Adam Fantilli confronted Rangers cap Jacob Trouba after massive hit

Columbus Blue Jackets rookie Adam Fantilli spoke to the media about his in-game confrontation with New York Rangers captain Jacob Trouba.

On Sunday, the Blue Jackets were up against the Rangers at Madison Square Garden. The Blue Jackets got off to a great start and were more controlled throughout the game, but it was the Blue Shirts who came out on top with a close 4-3 victory in the shootout.

During the first period of the game, Adam Fantilli got himself involved in a confrontation with none other than Jacob Trouba. Trouba launched an open hit on Blue Jackets forward Kiril Marchenko near the faceoff circle.

Seeing this, Fantilli rushed toward Trouba in defense of his teammate and got into a bit of shoving. Eventually, Trouba was given a penalty for roughing.

Following the game, Fantilli was asked about his first-period confrontation with Jacob Trouba. The rookie said that he was well aware of what he was getting himself into, but that he needed to step up.

"I thought it was questionable, so I wanted to get in there. Obviously, I know who (Trouba) is. I know where I'm going there. There's a chance it could go south for me. But sometimes it's gotta happen," Fantilli said (via ClutchPoints).

Adam Fantilli scored a goal in the contest. The 19-year-old has now notched up an impressive nine points through four goals and five assists in 15 games so far in his rookie year.
