Rod Brind'Amour credited his players for 300 wins
Rod Brind'Amour and Bruce Boudreau are the only coaches to achieve 300 wins in under 500 games. Postgame, Brind'Amour credited his players for his success, mentioning their consistent effort.
"Coaching is interesting. You get way too much credit when your team wins, and you just get abused when it doesn't," Brind'Amour said per NHL.com, "It's the group that you have (that makes you successful). I've been blessed... we've got a really good group... They give you what they can every night, and that's something I take the most pride in."
Rod Brind'Amour has a .615 win percentage and is one of eight coaches since 2000 to reach 300 wins with one team. Some key moments in his career include his first win on October 5, 2018, and winning the Jack Adams Award (NHL Coach of the Year) in 2021.
In 2022, Brind'Amour became the first Canes coach to participate in an All-Star game. By January 2023, he reached 200 wins. In April 2024, his team achieved three straight 50-win seasons.
