The second period between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Anaheim Ducks ended in a massive brawl, with multiple players from both teams dropping their gloves and landing punches at each other.
The tension between the two teams rose after Brendan Lemieux grappled with and landed several punches on Ducks' Pavel Mintyukov. Consequently, players from both teams rushed to the scene and got involved in a scrum, with multiple players from each side shoving and punching each other.

As a result, Radko Gudas and Brendan Lemieux were given a 10-minute misconduct.
Meanwhile, the Anaheim Ducks lead the Carolina Hurricanes with a 4-1 scoreline after the end of the second period at Honda Center. The Ducks have continued to dominate the game so far.
Frank Vatrano scored two goals while Sam Carrick and Pavel Mintyukov scored one apiece. Teavo Teravainen has scored two goals for the Hurricanes to cut the Ducks' lead to 4-2 in the third period.

The Anaheim Ducks beat the Hurricanes with a commanding 6-3 home victory to mark their first of the season on Sunday. The Ducks completely dominated the game.
Frank Vatrano scored his fourth NHL hat-trick, which also included the game-winning goal. Cam Fowler, Mason McTavis, and Ryan Strome each accumulated two points in the contest.
Meanwhile, Lukas Dostal blocked 32 shots from Hurricanes for Anaheim between the pipes and posted a.914 SV%. Teuvo Teravainen had two goals for the Carolina Hurricanes in the matchup.
Anaheim Ducks coach Greg Cronin spoke to the media and thanked the home crowd for their support in the post-game segment:
"We got in late last night and I was a little worried about the energy level," Cronin said. "I thought the crowd played a big role in getting us on our toes early."
The Ducks next play against the Dallas Stars on Thursday, Oct. 19. The puck drops at 7 p.m. ET. Meanwhile, the Hurricanes will be up against the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday, Oct. 17. The puck drops at 10:30 p.m. ET.
