After signing an eight-year, $66 million contract extension with the Boston Bruins, Jeremy Swayman decided to have some fun by recreating an iconic scene from 'The Wolf of Wall Street'. The Bruins posted a TikTok of Swayman, where he reenacts Leonardo DiCaprio’s famous line:

“I’m not effing leaving,” in a scene where the office erupts in cheers.

While the video was intended to be light-hearted, it quickly became a topic of conversation among NHL fans. Hockey reporter Sara 'Buckets' Civian shared the video on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption:

"Omg the Bruins just posted this on TikTok LMAO"

It sparked reactions from fans on X. Some took the opportunity to poke fun at Swayman’s re-enactment.

"Wants to be Max Domi so bad," one fan commented, referring to Domi’s similar post after his own extension with the Maple Leafs.
"Hahah. Kevin Hayes posted this same 'The Wolf of Wall Street' clip when he was with the Rangers and they were starting a retool. He was gone less than a year later," another fan responded.
"Bruins socials have gotten so much better over this past year or so," a fan appreciated.

Here are some more reactions from fans on X:

"That's REALLY good! Having fun with it shows that both sides are pretty happy with the deal," a fan wrote.
"They have the best TikTok team. Not a bruins fan but a huge fan of their TikToks," another fan wrote.
"Worst part is he's alone in the locker room besides the cameraman and Gross in the corner counting the stacks of cash," a fan said.
"Should've been the bruins players reacting instead," a fan opined on the crowd clip edit.

Jeremy Swayman's response to Bruins president Cam Neely's statement

Jeremy Swayman addressed Bruins president Cam Neely’s comments about his contract after signing the eight-year deal. The contract is worth $8.25 million per year and runs until 2031-32.

On October 2, Neely mentioned the Bruins' initial offer, referencing $64 million as the proposed amount.

"I know that I have 64 million reasons why I'd be playing right now," Neely said per NHL.com.

Jeremy Swayman responded to the statement and said:

"Our party and our team know the truth," Swayman said to reporters. "At the same time, we found an agreement and the fact that I could be here for eight years gives me goosebumps saying that."

Jeremy Swayman missed training camp, which started on September 18, due to stalled negotiations. He will not be playing in the Bruins' season opener against the Florida Panthers.
