Brandon Montour lifted his first Stanley Cup title with the Florida Panthers on Monday. His wife Ryian Montour also hoisted the trophy during the Panthers’ locker room celebration.

Ryian shared a couple of clips from the wild Florida locker room celebration after their Stanley Cup victory. In one of the videos, Brandon Montour and Matthew Tkachuk can be seen pouring liquor from the trophy and in the second, Brandon handed Ryian the 34.5-pound Stanley Cup.

Once she got a good grip on the trophy, Brandon let go and Ryian kept it hoisted on her own as her partner hyped her with cheers. She captioned the clip, writing:

“For an old pregnant lady.. Not bad”

Brandon Montour and his wife Ryian are expecting their second child together. In June last year, they welcomed their firstborn Kai during the Stanley Cup Final.

Montour flew from Las Vegas to South Florida to be present for Kai's birth at the time between Games 1 and 2 of the Cup Final. The couple celebrated Kai's first birthday on June 5 earlier this month.

Brandon Montour's Six Nations family proud of his Stanley Cup success

Brandon Montour originally hails from Ohsweken, a village in the reserve of Six Nations of the Grand River where he spent his early childhood. His family members and people of his Indigenous community were very proud of Brandon’s Stanley Cup success.

"When they [Panthers] won, I jumped up. And I jumped up so fast that I got one of those head rushes and then I had to sit down," said Montour's aunt Jaime Montour. "There were people crying. I was not alone when it came to that." [H/T CBC]

The player’s aunt went on to express how proud she was of her nephew. She also mentioned that Brandon’s success will inspire many such communities like their own in Canada.

"Brandon, you have no idea the impact that he is doing for First Nations people," she said. "No clue how big it is for them. To inspire a community, not just this community, but other communities in Canada."

Jamie also shared that after the game, she couldn’t sleep and on social media, saw many posts about how Montour was inspiring other Indigenous people.

The Six Nations elected council celebrated Montour’s achievement on Facebook, posting:

“For the first time in the modern era of the National Hockey League, a member of Six Nations of the Grand River has won hockey's greatest prize. Congrats #62, #WelcometoSixNayStanley."

For two years in a row, Six Nations has cheered Montour in the Stanley Cup finals and it was the first time the community saw him lift the trophy.
