Montreal Canadiens teammates Cole Caufield and Kirby Dach celebrated Father’s Day with a hilarious exchange of dad jokes. The comedy session was captured on Instagram, as both players “honored” their fathers on their special day.

Dach opened with the following gag:

"I couldn’t figure out why the football kept getting bigger. Then it hit me."

Caufield then stumped his teammate with this zinger:

"What’s blue and not very heavy? Light blue."

One of Caufield’s jokes was directed at the ladies:

"Ladies, if you can’t appreciate your fruit jokes, you should let that mango. Man go?"

The back-and-forth continued with the two teammates trading punch lines. This particular ripper from Cole Caufield was the highlight of the exchange:

"What do you call cheese that isn’t yours? Nacho cheese (not your cheese)."

Dach didn’t hold back:

"What do dogs and phones have in common? Both have caller ID."

That quip managed to get a chuckle out of Caufield. The creative punch lines are sure to leave fans in stitches. Check out the full comedy session right here.

Cole Caufield and the Canadiens looking forward to the draft

The Montreal Canadiens will be picking fifth in this year’s draft. With that selection, the Canadiens will be looking to add to the talent they currently have on their roster. Past first-round selections have borne fruit, such as Cole Caufield, whom the Canadiens drafted 15th overall in 2019.

This year, Montreal will be looking to add to its impressive core of young players. In particular, one name stands out: Cayden Lindstrom. The Canadiens are set with Nick Suzuki as their top-line center. But beyond Suzuki, the team's center depth could use a boost.

While Kirby Dach is expected to give Montreal a boost following his return from knee surgery, the Canadiens could use some help for years to come. As such, Lindstrom is an intriguing choice at No. 5.

With Macklin Celebrini all but certain as the No. 1 overall pick, there may be some uncertainty about who could be drafted at No. 2, 3 and 4. While the Canadiens could pick up Lindstrom, other options at center include Tij Iginla and Berkly Catton.

Nevertheless, the Canadiens could be fortunate to find Ivan Demidov available at No. 5. If that’s the case, Montreal may not pass up the opportunity to take the highly coveted Russian winger. Demidov could potentially slide into the Canadiens’ opening night lineup as he has experience playing as a pro in the KHL.

Regardless of which player the Canadiens ultimately pick, they have an opportunity to draft an impact player who could join the likes of Cole Caufield and Kirby Dach in building a strong, young team that could become a powerhouse in the Eastern Conference for years to come.
