Chaos ensued between the New York Rangers and Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night after Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin went after Senators forward Brady Tkachuk in the third period.
The incident occurred after Tkachuk tried to score on a rebound from Ridly Greig's shot, making contact with Shesterkin, who appeared to be in pain after the collision.
Immediately, Rangers players Matt Rempe and Ryan Lindgren surrounded Tkachuk, while Shane Pinto joined the scrum in defense of his teammate.

As Shesterkin got up, seemingly injured from the contact, he skated toward Tkachuk looking to confront him before referees intervened to separate the two.
Igor Shesterkin received a penalty for leaving the crease as a goalie, while Tkachuk was called for interference. Both Tkachuk and Rempe received double roughing penalties for their roles in the scrum. Moreover, Pinto was called for roughing against Lindgren.
The Rangers went on to secure a 5-0 shutout victory over the Senators. Alexis Lafreniere, Will Cuylle, Arthur Kaliyev, Artemi Panarin and Matt Rempe scored for New York, while Shesterkin stopped all 20 shots he faced.
On the other side, Leevi Merilainen allowed three goals on 21 shots before being replaced by Anton Forsberg, who made six saves in relief.
