It was a night to remember for Boston Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark who scored a goal in a 3-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks. It was a perfect example of game awareness and quick thinking, as he used the opportunity to chip the puck from the other side of the rink and place it into an empty net.
Watch the goal below:
The Bruins goalie was overjoyed and shared his happiness after scoring the first goal of his NHL career. He said:
"It's hard to describe what I'm feeling right now..I have to digest it..I'm just so bloody happy."
He added:
“I just had to take my chance there.”
Ullmark is one of only 13 goaltenders to score a goal in the NHL. The first was Billy Smith, who scored for the New York Islanders against the Colorado Rockies when he touched the deflected puck into the empty net in an own-goal situation.

Boston Bruins 2022-23 season so far
The Boston Bruins have been the team to beat this season. They are placed first in the Atlantic Division with 95 points and are one of the favorites for the season's title.
The Bruins have one of the league's most consistent offensive setups, which has helped them to score over 210 goals this season. The offense, led by David Pastrnak, has made things easy for them by scoring goals at will. Also, the defense has also been top-notch from them, allowing just two goals per game this season with Linus Ullmark being at the forefront of it. The defenders have done their part and look strong as a defensive unit for the future.
The Bruins have not lost in their last six games and will look to continue their streak when they travel to Edmonton to face the Edmonton Oilers next on Monday, February 27.
