During the second period, Dallas Stars center Joe Pavelski was hit hard by Minnesota Wild's Matt Dumba near the corner, causing Pavelski to knock his head on the ice with force.
Dumba's hit appeared to be illegal and he received a two-minute minor penalty. Max Domi, Pavelski's teammate, was furious by Dumba's behavior and went after him, sparking a chaotic situation on the ice.

Matt Dumba is one of the toughest defensemen in the NHL
Matt Dumba is also known as the alternate captain of the Minnesota Wild. He was picked seventh overall by the Wild in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. The 28-year-old defenseman made hi league debut during the 2012-13 season.
He's currently into his 10th NHL season in the league and during that span, Dumba has established himself as a risk-taking defenseman who knows how to move the puck and of course for his hard-hitting and aggressive style of play.
His career highlights came in the 2014-15 season, when Dumba played a full regular-season and also played a vital role in helping the Wild during the playoff series against the St. Louis Blues in 2015.
Following that season, the alternate captain continued to improve and significantly improved his playing style as a result of which Dumba became a pillar of the Wild blue line. His career-high season came in during the 2017-18 season, when the 28-year-old defenseman posted 50 points through fourteen goals and 36 assists.
The 2018-19 campaign did not go in favor of him as he suffered a season-ending injury. Despite the setbacks, Matt Dumba remained determined and worked his way back into the lineup. He made his comeback in the 2019-20 season and contributed 24 points (six goals, 18 assists) in 69 games.
In his NHL career, Matt Dumba has won the King Clancy Memorial Trophy, awarded to players who best exemplify leadership qualities on and off the ice. Apart from being a tough defenseman, the 28-year-old also has a bad reputation for being involved in various fights during his career. He's not afraid to put his body in between and is always there to stand up for his teammates.
