Minnesota Wild's Kirill Kaprizov was injured during their 4-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets. Kaprizov had a stick collision with Logan Stanley of the Jets during the third period and had to leave the ice. He did not return to finish the game and is currently under day-to-day observation.

Watch the video below:

The game started slowly as both teams failed to convert their chances until Marcus Foligno scored a goal in the 14th minute of the first period with assists from Oskar Sundqvist and Jake Middleton. But the second period saw both teams come stronger, resulting in a fiery contest.

An effort from the Wild resulted in a goal during the seventh minute but was canceled out by Stanley within 30 seconds. The Wild didn't let the Jets settle in and scored again to keep their side's one-goal advantage at the end of the second period. In the third period, there was nothing much except a goal from the Wild and the injury to Kirill Kaprizov.

In the 2022-23 season, the Minnesota Wild have played well and are in second place in the Western Conference Central Division with 81 points. They are currently level on points with the Dallas Stars and will look to challenge for the top spot.

The only problem is the offense, which depends a lot on Kirill Kaprizov, who has been their leading goal scorer this season. Kaprizov has scored 39 goals and has assisted 35 more to be tied for sixth in the league's goal scorers list.

More importantly, Kirill Kaprizov has been involved in more than half of the goals while contributing one-fourth of the team's goals. He will look to regain fitness as soon as possible to give his team a boost ahead of the playoffs.

Kirill Kaprizov's career so far

The 25-year-old has had a young career, having made his debut in the 2020-21 season with the Minnesota Wild and has played 200 games averaging 19 minutes on the ice. Kirill Kaprizov has scored 113 goals with a shooting percentage of 16.2 (including 14 game-winning goals) and has assisted in 120 more. He has been involved in 85 penalty minutes and has 75 power-play goal contributions to his name.

What's next for the Minnesota Wild?

The Minnesota Wild have won four of their past four games while scoring 12 goals and allowing six in return and are going through a great patch. They have a few easy games coming up — given that their opponents are struggling — starting with the San Jose Sharks on March 11, 2023. The Wild will look to these games to get maximum points and stay up front for a top league stage finish.
