Edmonton Oilers defenseman Mattias Ekholm suffered a cut to his face after being hit by the stick of Vegas Golden Knights' Nicolas Roy in the third period of their Game 6 clash on Sunday.
The Oilers' defenseman had to leave the ice to have it treated. No penalty was called after the play since the hit occurred during the follow through.

The Edmonton Oilers' quest to lift the Stanley Cup crown came to an end after the Vegas Golden Knights defeated them 5-2 to clinch the series 4-2 on Sunday.
The Golden Knights will now face either the Seattle Kraken or the Dallas Stars, depending on the outcome of Game 7 on Monday, in the Western Conference Finals.
How has Mattias Ekholm fared in NHL?
The 32-year-old started his professional journey with the Nashville Predators and debuted for them in the 2011-12 season. He's currently in his 12th season in the league. During that span, Ekholm has donned the jerseys of two franchises.
