In their first game after the Christmas break, the St. Louis Blues beat the Nashville Predators 7-4 at their home Enterprise Center on Friday. NFL star and Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Creed Humphrey stole the show. Present at the game to support the Blues, Humphrey electrified the crowd by chugging his beer.
The delightful clip shared by St. Louis Blue's official X account has been doing rounds on the Internet, showcasing the two-time Super Bowl Champion sitting among the spectators and enthusiastically cheering on the Blues. As the camera panned up to Humphrey, he acknowledged the fans by raising his beer glass and quickly gulped it down. He then got up to clap and excite the fans with his infectious energy.
The 25-year-old, two-time Pro Bowler played a crucial role in helping the Kansas City Chiefs become the first team in 20 years to win two consecutive Super Bowl Championships this year, a feat last accomplished by New England Patriots in 2003-2004.
Earlier this year, in August, Humphrey became the highest-paid center in the history of the NFL after he signed a $72 million four-year contract extension with the Chiefs.
Centre Robert Thomas scores twice as St. Louis Blues dominate Nashville Predators 7-4
After recording a trio of losses last week, the St. Louis Blues are back to winning ways. After beating the Detroit Red Wings 4-0 at their home on Monday, the Blues secured another convincing victory after defeating the visiting Nashville Predators 7-4 on Friday. With this win, the Blues have improved their record to 17-16-4 and now rank 6th in the Central Division.
The Blues came out strong, with 25-year-old center Robert Thomas scoring the opening goal just 1:20 into the first period. Right-winger Zachary Bolduc followed suit, netting his goal at 2:47. These early goals set the tone for the game, and the Predators could not recover.
Blues defenseman Cam Fowler also impressed with his standout performance, scoring a goal and two assists. Additionally, Philip Broberg and Jordan Kyrou scored a goal each, with the latter also contributing an assist. Thomas sealed the deal by scoring his second goal, this one in the power-play with 4:50 left in the game. Lastly, Blues alternate captain Colton Parayko scored an empty-netter with 1:15 remaining in the game.
The Blues now sit 4-4-2 over their last 10 games. They will look to win their last game of the month as they host the struggling Buffalo Sabres (2-7-1 in their last 10) on Sunday.
