Former NHL superstar Wayne Gretzky's daughters ushered in the New Year with a happy celebration. Gretzky’s daughters Paulina and Emma were present with their partners to ring in the New Year. Celebrations erupted around the table as the clock struck midnight.
An Instagram story shared by Paulina shows the group ringing in the New Year with their partners before Paulina and Emma shared a ‘kunik’, a traditional greeting of the Inuit. Or it could have been a sisterly peck on the lips. The clip, set to a Sabrina Carpenter song, shows us the strong bond the sisters and the family as a whole share.
Emma had shared a carousel of her holiday with Paulina in Aspen, Colorado, on Dec. 31.
‘The Great One’ shares five kids with his wife Janet. They welcomed their first child, daughter Paulina, in 1988, followed by sons Ty in 1990, Trevor in 1992, and Tristan in 2000 before welcoming their second daughter Emma in 2003.
Paulina, a prominent model, has over a million Instagram followers and has also acted in movies like Grown Ups 2, starring Adam Sandler and David Spade. She is married to six-time World Golf Champion Dustin Johnson.
Emma, 21, plays tennis at Southern Methodist University and has appeared alongside Emma Roberts and James Franco in the 2013 movie Palo Alto. She is dating college football player Stone Eby.
“It’s just a matter of time” - Wayne Gretzky on Alex Ovechkin chasing his record
Gretzky, widely considered the greatest hockey player of all time by fans and pundits alike, is sure that Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin will break his record for the most goals scored in the NHL.
"It's just a matter of time, whether it's late this year, early next year, whenever," Gretzky told NHL.com earlier this season about Ovechkin's chances of breaking his record. "I mean, he's a great player. He's a great goal scorer."
Ovechkin scored his 870th NHL goal on Sunday against the Detroit Red Wings, moving him within 25 goals of Gretzky’s tally of 894.
