Wayne Gretzky's son Trevor sends birthday wish to mother Janet on her 64th birthday

NHL legend Wayne Gretzky’s son Trevor wished his mother a happy birthday on Friday. Janet, who is turning 64, is best known for her roles in The Flamingo Kid and A League of Their Own.

In a post on Instagram, Trevor said:

“Happy birthday mom.”

Wayne met Janet on the set of a musical reality show and began dating in 1987. The couple have five children: Paulina, Ty Robert, Trevor Douglas, Tristan Wayne, and Emma Marie.

Trevor played baseball in the minor leagues, but he and his older sister Paulina ultimately followed in their mother’s footsteps. Trevor is an actor and producer, appearing in films such as Spiral, starring Samuel L. Jackson. Trevor and his mother Janet also both acted in American Siege, starring Bruce Willis.

Paulina is a model and has appeared on the cover of the Canadian edition of Flare magazine. She is married to golf star Dustin Johnson.

Wayne Gretzky has been in the news recently as Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin is closing in on his NHL goalscoring record. With 872 goals in 1,451 games, Ovechkin is just 23 goals shy of the record 894 goals in 1,487 games Gretzky set in 1999.

Gretzky had in October said via NHL.com that he was looking forward to his record being broken, saying "it was just a matter of time" before Ovechkin overtook him.

US President-elect Donald Trump jokes about wanting Wayne Gretzky to be ‘Governor of Canada’

Following Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s resignation on Monday, Trump, during a press conference on Thursday at his resort Mar-a-Lago, jokingly suggested that Gretzky would make a great governor for Canada.

"I was with Wayne Gretzky. I said, 'Wayne, would you like to be the governor of Canada?’ I can't imagine anybody doing better than Wayne," Trump said via C-SPAN.

"Wayne was not too interested. But he probably would have liked statehood. He's a friend of mine. He's a great guy. He's the Great One. We call him the Great One, right? He's a great hockey player."

Gretzky was one of the attendees at Trump’s victory party after the latter defeated Democratic candidate and US Vice-President Kamala Harris in the US presidential election in Nov. 2024.
