NHL legend Wayne Gretzky complimented actors Bill Murray and Jon Hamm, who were special guests at the NHL Winter Classic at Wrigley Field on Tuesday.
John Hamm showed his support for the St. Louis Blues by wearing a Winter Classic jersey, a Blues scarf and a Blues hat. Meanwhile, Bill Murray sported his Blackhawks Winter Classic jersey and beanie as joined the "NHL on TNT" crew.
Wayne Gretzky shared a photo of the two actors on his IG. Praising Hamm and Murray, "The Great One" captioned the post:
"The greatest 2 people."
Blues captain Luke Schenn also joined the broadcast, where Jon Hamm playfully inquired if he was overwhelming the forward with too many texts. Schenn assured Hamm that he appreciated the messages, expressing his excitement.
Additionally, Schenn mentioned that if given the opportunity, he would love to see Hamm play on his left wing.
Meanwhile, the 2025 NHL Winter Classic at Wrigley Field turned out to be a one-sided affair, with the Blues beating the Blackhawks convincingly, 6-2.
“I mean, during the national anthem and right before it started, the ‘Let’s go Blues, Let’s go Hawks’ back and forth, that was unbelievable,” St. Louis coach Jim Montgomery said via NHL.com. “I felt like a little kid just being a part of a special event.”
The Blackhawks are 0-4 in the Winter Classic, while the Blues improved to 2-0 in the annual outdoor hockey game event.
