Johnny Gaudreau's family is in Calgary for a special tribute. On Tuesday, the Flames will honor Johnny and Matthew during the game against the Columbus Blue Jackets at Scotiabank Saddledome. The Gaudreau family was warmly welcomed by the Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena in the previous game between the two teams on Friday. Columbus won 5-2 after dominating the Flames offensively.

NHL insider Eric Francis shared that Flames general manager Craig Conroy joked with Johnny’s father, Guy, about his grandson, "little Johnny."

"Craig Conroy taking care of little Johnny Gaudreau, joking about him being a future first rounder. Telling Guy Gaudreau he better get to work on teaching his grandson, Guy smiled: “Don’t worry, we’ll get started soon enough,'" Francis tweeted.

Johnny's wife Meredith shared Conroy and Guy's conversation on her Instagram story.

"Or 4th round like his daddy is fine too," Meredith captioned.

Johnny and Matthew tragically died on Aug. 29 in a bike accident in New Jersey. Johnny, a former Calgary Flames player, joined the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2022.

The Gaudreau family continues to forge bonds with the Blue Jackets and Columbus community, and it seems Johnny's legacy may live on through his son.
