The Toronto Maple Leafs are experiencing their first 3-game losing streak this season after falling 4-1 to the Dallas Stars on Tuesday night.

The loss dropped the Leafs to 27-16-2 on the year but they still hold first place in the Atlantic Division. The recent slide has come against teams in playoff contention, like Carolina and Dallas, or just on the outside of Vancouver.

When asked about the team's struggles, William Nylander said:

“I think all good teams need to go through some stretch where everything's not clicking and everything like that.
“So, yeah I mean, good teams find their way out of this. And, I mean, it's only been three games,so what's the big deal, really?”

The Leafs have been outscored 13-4 in the last three games. The loss to Dallas was another game without a goal on the power play. Their power play unit is only converting at 20.3 percent, which ranks 18th in the league.

Nylander also brushed off the fan reaction during the losing streak, saying:

"It doesn't really matter if they boo. I mean, we know we're a good team."

Nylander has managed just one point in his last seven games, bringing his season total to 24 goals and 44 points.

NHL analyst Dave Feschuk believes the Toronto Maple Leafs are still strong playoff contenders

Despite the Toronto Maple Leafs' recent three-game losing streak, NHL analyst Dave Feschuk still views them as strong playoff contenders.

“I think the Leafs have gotten there,"Feschuk said. "They've had they've had moments this season. They've looked like a different team. We've had very esteemed critics of hockey talk about how they look different. They look into more playoff-worthy."

Feschuk acknowledged the team's current struggles amid the losing streak but believes they have shown flashes of being a playoff-caliber team at times this season.

"That's not the case right now, in the midst of this losing streak, but we've certainly seen glimpses of a team that can play a playoff style.Berube's got to hope they can flip that switch on April and and turn it on."

The Toronto Maple Leafs will look to snap their 3-game skid in their next game against the New Jersey Devils on Thursday.
