Patrick Kane is considered to be one of the most-renowned personalities in the NHL. He is an American ice hockey right winger and alternate captain for the Chicago Blackhawks. Kane led the NHL in scoring with 106 points (46 goals, 60 assists) and is the first American-born player to win the Art Ross Trophy. He was also the first American-born player to win the Hart Trophy.

On February 24, 2015, Patrick Kane broke his left clavicle and underwent surgery to repair it on February 25. Kane was injured after Florida defensive midfielder Alex Petrovic hit him with a cross-check, which resulted in a two-minute penalty. Kane was taken to the Blackhawks locker room by trainers but was later ruled out.

When Kane crinkled to the ice with a broken left collarbone, the Blackhawks' chances of winning another Stanley Cup seemed to disappear. Kane was having an MVP-caliber season, with 27 goals in 61 games. Patrick worked extremely hard on his rehabilitation and returned to full-contact training with no problems.

However, in a season marred by off-ice challenges, including the deaths of assistant equipment manager Clint Reif and former Hawk Steve Montador, the team overcame its biggest on-ice challenge en route to its third Cup in six years by adding pieces to the roster and changing its style of play in the final 21 games of the regular season.

The true pinnacle of Patrick Kane's career happened between 2010 and 2015 when the Chicago Blackhawks won three Stanley Cups in a five-year time frame. The first cup was in 2010, the second in 2013, and the third in 2015.

Despite playing with an undisclosed injury, Patrick Kane appeared in 78 games for the Blackhawks during the 2021-22 NHL season, recording 26 goals and 66 assists. Kane's 92 points ranked him third on the career scoring list.
