After suffering a laceration to his leg in early March, Tyler Seguin has returned to practice with his eyes set on a return to the lineup this week. While there is no set date for a return, the talented forward was seen at practice without a special, no-contact jersey.

The six-time All-Star suffered the laceration after getting tangled up with Buffalo Sabres forward Jordan Greenway on March 9.
During the incident, Greenway's skate appeared to catch him above his left knee, with Seguin grabbing his leg and limping to the dressing room.
Seguin went through Monday's practice without issue. However, Dallas head coach Peter DeBoer said that he did not expect the forward to be available for Tuesday's matchup with Seattle. His next opportunity to return to the club will be on Thursday against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Seguin's return to the lineup will be massive for the Dallas Stars, who currently sit first in the Central Division with a 38-19-13 record. Through 65 games this season, Seguin has posted 17 goals, 42 points, 159 shots on net, and 73 hits.

The laceration that Seguin suffered was the second major cut he has suffered in his NHL career. During the 2015-16 season, his Achilles tendon was partially cut by a skate, which sidelined him for 10 games before he returned to practice.
The 15% cut to the tendon happened following an entanglement with Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Anton Stralman.
Tyler Seguin's laceration was minor compared to the wrist injury suffered by Evander Kane
While Seguin is on his way back from injury after missing only a handful of games, the injury to Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane forced him to miss two months.
During a matchup between the Edmonton Oilers and Tampa Bay Lightning, Kane took a skate to his wrist, which left a pool of blood on the ice.

Kane needed to undergo surgery after having his wrist sliced by the skate of Lightning forward Patrick Maroon.
The injuries to Evander Kane and Tyler Seguin raised an issue with the NHL general managers regarding player safety and potential changes to equipment.
