Lexi LaFluer, wife of former NHL player JT Brown, shared a funny post on Tuesday about the effort hockey wives or girlfriends put into “motivating” their partners. Known in the hockey community for her humor, Lexi responded to an exchange about life as a hockey spouse or WAG.
A user joked about why they couldn’t be a WAG, saying they’d expect their partner to score more on the ice if asked to do simple chores.
“You don’t think we’ve already tried that? There are WAGs giving out BJs per goals scored. Where’s the recognition for the ingenuity, effort, and leadership happening at home? Where’s that NHL award?!” -Lexi LaFleur on X.
LaFleur's playful comment got fans talking about the often-unseen support hockey partners give. She previously joked about other hockey challenges like players struggling to find jeans that fit because of their large muscles from skating. In a TikTok video that went viral in September, she said:
"My favorite useless random hockey fact is the fact that hockey players' butts are so big, so bootylicious, that they have a hard time finding jeans that fit," LaFleur said.
"Talk about big booty problems. So like, be nice to a hockey player because you don't know what they're going through."
LaFleur is known for being interactive with her social media followers.
JT Brown's partner Lexi recalls 2016 U.S. election
Former NHL player JT Brown's wife, Lexi LaFleur, shared memories on Instagram of watching the 2016 U.S. election results during an NHL Halloween party. She recalled that the party, scheduled to fit the hockey calendar, had players in costumes, yet many were distracted by the tense updates on multiple TVs. Lexi noted that the party’s atmosphere felt odd and didn’t match the expected Halloween excitement.
“That’s not a vibe anybody wanted,” LaFleur wrote.
Reflecting on this year's elections, she talked about her anxiety watching the results unfold. Donald Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris and will serve his second term as president.
JT Brown's partner Lexi's comments on NHL partner's ordeal during trade
JT Brown's wife Lexi has also shared insights into the life of hockey partners. When players are traded, their partners are quickly added to a new team’s group chat.
“You say a nice goodbye and remove yourself very quickly. Impressively, you’re somehow added to another team’s group chat almost instantly.” -Lexi LaFleur posted on X.
Lexi LaFleur and JT Brown got married in 2015 and have two children.
