Jack Hughes shared an Instagram video that shows a lighthearted skating race between the 23-year-old and his brothers, Quinn and Luke. Former NHL player P.K. Subban timed them as they glided around a rink.

Luke shared the video with his followers and captioned it,

"Let’s goooo! Speed 📈 #NHL25"

All three brothers skated around the edges of a circular logo. As the oldest sibling, Quinn went first. He is also the Vancouver Canucks captain.

"Quinn, I'll be starting the clock. Once you hit that red line" Subban kicked off the race.

Subban praised how well he held his edge.

"It's a great open up. Look at him using the power. He's really holding that edge. Five seconds. Six. He's really moving."

Quinn finished in 9.10 seconds.

Luke skated next and finished faster with a time of 8.83 seconds, impressing with his quick, powerful moves.

"Wow. So powerful in his edges. For a big man, he moves quickly. Wow. He's on target. Wow. Eight. Eight. Three"

Despite a stumble, Jack skated the fastest, completing the lap in 8.66 seconds.

"Jack, off to a great start. Unbelievable skater. You talk about it. A little stumble there. Can he make up the time? Close. Jack. Eight. Six. Six"

Subban declared Jack the winner, giving him a point for his agility.

"That's a new leader. Jack Hughes won that challenge. He gets the one point bump for the agility challenge. Congratulations."

The brothers enjoyed the friendly challenge.

Jack Hughes believes gracing the NHL 25 cover is an honor

"Coming into the NHL, that was definitely a goal of mine. Jack said during NHL's North American Player Media Tour in Las Vegas. I was like, 'I would love to be on the cover one day.' Doing it with Quinn and Luke is even more special."

Jack also expressed excitement about the New Jersey Devils’ upcoming season. He is ready to play again after missing games last year due to shoulder surgery. He noted that the team has new players and an updated coaching staff who aim to perform better this fall.
