Andrei Svechnikov, the star winger for the Carolina Hurricanes, is the fastest skater in the NHL. The 22-year-old skater won the 2023 All-Star Skills competition by clocking the quickest lap with a time of 13.699, making him the fastest NHL skater.

Skaters such as Andrei Svechnikov (CAR), Kevin Fiala (LAK), Cale Makar (COL), Chandler Stephenson (VGK), and Dylan Larkin were among those competing for the title of fastest skater (DET).

Dylan Larkin, who won the title as the fastest skater in 2016, was anticipated to be a heavy favorite to win the title. However, he was unable to make it to the final and, along with Makar and Stephenson, was eliminated in the first round.

In the first round, Svechnikov set a lap time of 13.757 seconds and was unsure if he would be the event's headliner.

"I feel like I've got no chance, to be honest, but I'm going to try my best," Svechnikov said after his first lap. Svechnikov said after the first lap"- NHL.com

The previous two fastest skater records belonged to Sami Kapanen. Andrei Svechnikov became only the third player in the history of the Hurricanes to achieve this accomplishment.
