Jakob Chychrun (born March 31, 1998) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays as a defenseman for the Arizona Coyotes of the National Hockey League (NHL).

He started his journey in hockey in Florida, playing for the Junior Everblades and the Florida Jr. Panthers. At 13, he joined the Little Caesars hockey organization in Detroit, Michigan, where he excelled in major bantam. Despite living in Florida and practicing there, he would travel to Michigan on weekends to play. The following year, he stayed with the Little Caesars and played for their U16 team.

Chychrun signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Arizona Coyotes in July 2016 and scored his first NHL goal in October of that same year. After a season with the team, Chychrun underwent knee surgery during the offseason but returned to the NHL the following season.

Despite suffering a lower-body injury that ruled him out for the rest of the season, he still recorded 14 points in 50 games. In 2018, Chychrun underwent ACL surgery and was signed to a six-year contract extension by the Coyotes before his season debut.

Chychrun continued to develop into one of the NHL's top young defensemen. He's known for his physicality, offensive skills, and ability to play in all situations. In the 2020-21 season, Chychrun set career highs in goals (11), assists (25), and points (36) in just 42 games, helping lead the Coyotes to the playoffs. He recorded his first career hat-trick in a 3-2 overtime victory against the Anaheim Ducks.

Chychrun has also represented Canada internationally, winning a gold medal at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championships.
