Who is Tage Thompson's wife? Meet Rachel Thompson

Tage Thompson is considered as one the most esteemed American ice hockey players. He is currently playing for the Buffalo Sabers in the National Hockey League (NHL).

Thompson's family is also gaining attention. The NHL star is married to a lady named Rachel Thompson. In 2016, the couple first met at a Halloween party and from then on, the duo decided to date each other. In 2019, Rachel completed her graduation and joined Thompson.

However, they were in a long-distance relationship as Tage Thompson was busy establishing his ice hockey career. But despite this, whenever possible, Rachel used to visit him in St. Louis and San Antonio.

After dating each other for four years, Tage and Rachel got engaged on 6 June, 2020. Finally, on 25 July 2021, the duo decided to tie the knot and get settled with each other. The duo's destination for marriage was Saltwater Farm Vineyard. All of their family and friends attended the wedding.

The duo also welcomed their first baby, a boy they named Brooks Nathaniel Thompson on 6 July 2022. The NHL star took to his Instagram handle and captioned the post thus:

"Welcome to the world baby boy."

The duo is enjoying their parenthood and are planning to have one more baby.

Tage Thompson's wife Rachel Thompson's battle with cancer

In 2018, Rachel Thompson was diagnosed with bone cancer and she underwent surgery for four years to remove a tumor above her right knee and prevent it from spreading.

Initially, Rachel ignored the pain in her right leg and thought that it was due to an old injury. An MRI report led to Rachel being diagnosed with Chondrosarcoma, a type of bone cancer that can occur in soft tissue near bones.

Later, Tage Thompson was informed about it and it was a terrible thing for him to hear. But Rachel’s surgery worked and now she is cancer free.

If her summer 2023 scan is clean, then she won’t need any further examinations. Though the duo is young and have been through a lot, the way they handled each situation is praiseworthy. They are not allowing their problems to weigh them down.

Tage Thompson is realizing his potential in the National Hockey League (NHL). In December 2022, Thompson became the fourth player in the history of the NHL to score four goals in a first-period performance as he faced the Columbus Blue Jackets.
