Katie Gaudreau, the sister of NHL stars Matthew and Johnny Gaudreau, has expressed her profound grief following the tragic deaths of her brothers.
The Gaudreau siblings were killed in an accident involving an alleged drunk driver while they were riding bicycles near their home in Salem County in August.
In a heartfelt message, Katie shared cherished memories from 2024, a year that took a devastating turn. She reflected on the stark contrast between what was supposed to be one of the best years of her life and the overwhelming sorrow she now faces.
"2024 I hate you. You went from what should have been the best year of my life to the worst. You taught me that life is cruel and unfair. You made me feel so small and so lost, but you didn't get the best of me because I have come out stronger and wiser. 2025 l am not sure how to feel about you yet because I don't know how we leave 2024 like this," Keith captioned the post.
The tragedy led to the cancellation of the wedding, which was anticipated to be a joyful occasion.
The wedding of Johnny Gaudreau's sister, Katie Gaudreau, was canceled following the tragic events that unfolded. Katie and her fiance, Devin Joyce, made the decision to call off their nuptials, which was set to take place at the Parish of St. Mary in Gloucester City, NJ.
The cancellation came in the wake of the deaths of the Gaudreau brothers that occurred the day before. Johnny and Matthew were expected to stand by their sister as groomsmen.
