New York Rangers fans on social media have lashed out at coach Peter Laviolette's response to forward Mika Zibanejad after the team's mistakes in the 6-3 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday.

Zibanejad has struggled with puck management, which was evident in his minus-four rating and turnover-heavy performance against the Jets at MSG. When asked if Zibanejad is frustrated, the Blueshirts HC said:

"I can't speak for Mika... We count on Mika. He's an impact player for us. Not him, but sometimes when you are pushing on offense to try and make things happen, then things can go the other way for us. Like they did for us tonight as a group, not specifically speaking about him."

The explanation did little to calm fans' frustrations, as they continue to be concerned about the team's inconsistent performances, especially with Mika Zibanejad. Here's what they said on X/Twitter, with one posting:

"Zero accountability it’s distgusting"
"He’s an impact player for the team we are playing against rn lol," another chimed in.

Here are some of the other top reactions on X:

"Just another lame duck coach in a long line of them for this organization," a fan said.
"This is ridiculous, call him out for once Lavi, he’s actively hurting this team. Him and him alone. Have a backbone dude." posted another.
"3 goals on him tonight," a user chimed in.

Mika Zibanejad has accumulated 11 points through two goals and nine assists in 14 games this season.

Mika Zibanejad's Blueshirts lose as Hets continue their historic run

On Tuesday, the New York Rangers hosted the Winnipeg Jets at MSG. The Jets continued their historic run by defeating the Rangers 6-3, making them the only team in NHL history to win 15 of their first 16 games.

Mark Scheifele opened the scoring for the Jets just 57 seconds into the first period. At 13:07, Will Cuylle tied it for the Rangers before the teams headed into the second period.

Gabriel Vilardi put the Jets ahead 2-1 on the powerplay, but Alex Lafreniere tied it 2-2 for the home team at 12:51. Kyle Connor then increased the Jets' to 3-2 before the final period. Scheifele scored his second goal of the night to make it 4-2, but Kaapo Kakko responded by making it 4-3 for the Blueshirts.

Goals from Vladislav Namestnikov and Connor helped the Jets secure a 6-3 victory over the Rangers. Mika Zibanejad and the Blueshirts face the San Jose Sharks on Thursday with the puck scheduled to drop at 7:30 p.m. ET.
