The NHL Trade Deadline is rapidly approaching, with several contenders reportedly looking to bolster their rosters for a potential playoff run. We have already seen a major trade take place, with the Vancouver Canucks sending Bo Horvat to the New York Islanders in exchange for forwards Anthony Beauvillier and Aatu Raty, as well as a protected 2023 first-round draft pick.
The trade has already benefitted the Islanders by increasing their scoring production. The former Vancouver captain has recorded three goals and an assist for his new team in the first four games with his new club.

Several All-Stars, including Erik Karlsson and Patrick Kane, are currently some of the most notable names that may be moved before the NHL Trade Deadline. However, there are several mid-tier players available on the market who may be able to make an impact on Stanley Cup contenders.
Here is a closer look at three mid-tier players that may be traded before the March 3 deadline.
1. Ivan Barbashev seems likely to be moved before the NHL Trade Deadline
While some teams have been inquiring about forwards Timo Meier and Patrick Kane, Ivan Barbashev of the St. Louis Blues might be a more affordable and flexible option.

Blues forward Ivan Barbashev can play at center and both wing spots. Despite his scoring output being down this season, he tallied career-highs of 26 goals and 34 assists last season, which should make him an intriguing buy-low for several contenders, including the Boston Bruins, the Seattle Kraken and the New York Rangers.
2. Sean Monahan may find himself in a new uniform
After finding his role with the Calgary Flames reduced, Sean Monahan was eventually traded to the Montreal Canadiens last year to make salary cap space. Since being acquired by Montreal, the 28-year-old forward has only managed to play in 25 games with the club, scoring 6 goals and 11 assists in the process.
While Monahan has struggled this season, he will be one of the top centers available as the NHL Trade Deadline approaches, which may motivate Montreal to move the veteran. The Colorado Avalanche are one of the teams reportedly interested in the forward.
3. Brock Boeser could benefit from a change of scenery at the NHL Trade Deadline
While Brock Boeser appeared to be set for superstardom at the start of his career, the 25-year-old forward has struggled this season for the Vancouver Canucks. Through 46 games this season, Boeser has scored 10 goals and 25 assists. With the Canucks seemingly set to enter a rebuilding phase, Boeser may find himself expendable by the deadline.
"On Brock Boeser: Vancouver is trying to move him and he wants to move. Minnesota does want him but it's a hard trade. Greenway for Boeser was discussed since Greenway may be moved at some point. Boeser trade doesn't hinge on Meier moving first. #Canucks #mnwild #NHL" - NHL Trade Alert
Boeser, while talented, has struggled with injuries and consistency in recent seasons, having only played more than 70 games once in his career. Few players around the league could benefit from a change of scenery at the NHL Trade Deadline more than Boeser.
