Here is a look at the NHL transactions that occurred on Tuesday, signaling the official start of the offseason.

NHL transactions involving trades and signings on June 25

#1: Utah Hockey Club signs Vladislav Kolyachonok

Utah signed RFA Vladislav Kolyachonok to a two-year deal. The terms of the contract remain undisclosed. The 23-year-old defenseman was originally drafted by the Panthers in the second round of the 2019 NHL draft but spent his past season with the Arizona Coyotes.

#2: The Dallas Stars avoid arbitration with Oskar Back

Back is another RFA who signed a qualifying offer, which is a one-year, two-year contract. The Swedish center was a third-round pick of the Stars in 2018. With the deal, Back and the Dallas Stars avoid arbitration.

#3: San Jose Sharks acquire defenseman Jake Walman

The Sharks acquired defenseman Jake Walman from the Detroit Red Wings along with a second-round pick in exchange for future considerations. Walman has a $3.4 million cap hit for next season. The second-round pick they have acquired is the 53rd overall, which originally belonged to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

#4: Red Wings complete a minor league trade

In another of today's NHL transactions, the Red Wings sent AHL player Andrew Gibson to the Nashville Predators in exchange for Jesse Kiiskinen and a second-round pick. The pick was used in the deal involving the San Jose Sharks. The deal does not have any cap implications for either club.

#5: Colorado locks up Casey Mittelstadt with three-year extension

The Avalanche signed center Casey Mittelstadt to a three-year contract extension worth $17.25 million. The deal carries a $5.75 million cap hit for the next three seasons. Mittelstadt arrived in Colorado at the trade deadline following an exchange with the Buffalo Sabres.

#6: Winnipeg extends Dylan DeMelo for four seasons

Defenseman Dylan DeMelo will not hit the open market as the Winnipeg Jets penned DeMelo to a four-year contract extension valued at $19.6 million. The contract involves a $4.9 million cap hit. He was poised to become a highly sought-after UFA. As part of today's NHL transactions, the athlete avoids hitting the free-agent market.

#7: Sens sign Wyatt Bongiovanni to one-year deal

The Ottawa Senators signed center Wyatt Bongiovanni to a qualifying offer worth the league minimum. The one-year contract is for $775,000. The 24-year-old undrafted forward originally signed with Winnipeg before arriving in Ottawa.
