Nicholas Foligno is an American professional ice hockey left winger and alternate captain for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL), as of 2024. He was drafted in the first round, 28th overall, by the Ottawa Senators in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Foligno later joined the Columbus Blue Jackets, where he served as the team's captain for six seasons. His father, Mike Foligno, has a career spanning over 1000 NHL games, and his brother, Marcus Foligno, plays for the Minnesota Wild.
He was coached by his father during his rookie season in the OHL during the 2004-05 season. His father was the coach of the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL. After his second season there he was picked by the Ottawa Senators during the 2006 NHL Entry Level Draft.
