The Edmonton Oilers will look to get back in the win column after a 5-6 Florida Panthers loss in Monday's rematch of the Stanley Cup Finals when they host the Boston Bruins on Thursday. While the team had been 5-1 across December leading up to Monday's game, the Oilers will be looking to bounce back quickly.

However, the Bruins, who have won two straight games and are eager to keep the momentum rolling, are standing in their way. They are chasing the Maple Leafs and the Panthers in the divisional standings.

Currently, the Boston Bruins are ranked third in the Atlantic Division with a record of 17-13-3 with 37 points, while the Oilers are in third in the Pacific Division with a record of 18-11-2.

Heading into the game, Edmonton will be without Evander Kane, who is on the long-term injured reserve list. Additionally, while Viktor Arvidsson may return tonight, he is questionable after missing 15 games with an undisclosed injury.

Looking at the odds for Bruins vs. Oilers game and upcoming games in December

Heading into the Oilers vs. Bruins matchup, Edmonton is a slight betting favorite on most US-based sportsbooks. On DraftKings, Edmonton is a -166 favorite while Boston is a +140 underdog.

Meanwhile, on BallyBet, Edmonton is a -157 favorite, while Boston is a +130 underdog. If these odds were to remain consistent, a $157 bet on Edmonton would win $100, while a $100 bet on Boston could win $130.

Following the Boston Bruins game, the Oilers will kick off a back-to-back - matchup against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday before hosting the Ottawa Senators on Sunday.

With a five-game home run drawing to a close with the Senators game, Edmonton will have almost an entire week to recover before heading to LA for a matchup against the Kings on Saturday, Dec. 28. This will kick off a back-to-back that will see the team play the Anaheim Ducks the following night.

The Oilers will end 2024 with a New Year's Eve game against Utah at home.
