Despite scoring five in the same duration, the Penguins will be aware that their hope to make the playoffs this season will heavily depend on their defensive discipline.

Filip Kral, Taylor Gauthier & Erik Karlsson are all out for the game against the Senators. Coach Mike Sullivan has provided an update on Karlsson's return, mentioning the opening game of the season against the New York Rangers.

Senators and Penguins key players

Wingers Jan Jenik and Cole Reinhardt have been influential for the Senators so far with the duo contributing to four points each across the first three games. It will be interesting to see how Brady Tkachuk picks up pace again and starts lifting his points tally up.

Jesse Puljujarvi has had an impressive start to the preseason for the Penguins scoring three goals already, the forward managed to match his goal tally of last season in just three preseason games.
