Born on September 22, 1971, Pascal Vincent is a Canadian ice hockey coach and former player, currently serving as the head coach for the Laval Rocket of the American Hockey League. He previously served as a head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets and as the club's associate coach since June 2021. Before joining the Blue Jackets, the 52-year-old Vincent spent a decade with the Winnipeg Jets organization, working five seasons as a Jets assistant coach and five as the head coach of the American Hockey League’s Manitoba Moose. Vincent was fired by the Blue Jackets on June 17, 2024.
Vincent's coaching tenure in the AHL from 2016-21 saw him amass a 155-139-31 record in 325 games. His outstanding performance earned him the Louis A.R. Pieri Memorial Award as the AHL’s Coach of the Year in 2017-18, leading the Moose to a 42-26-8 record with 92 points in 76 games. Before Winnipeg, he served as an assistant coach with the Jets from 2011-16 under head coaches Claude Noel and Paul Maurice.
Before his time in Winnipeg, Vincent spent 11 seasons as a head coach in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), notably with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles from 2000-08 and Montreal Juniors from 2008-11. During this period, he achieved a remarkable record of 429-313-87 in 829 games, securing 10 winning seasons and nine playoff series victories. He earned the Ron Lapointe Trophy as the league’s top head coach in 2007-08 with Cape Breton.
A native of Laval, Quebec, Vincent played four seasons in the QMJHL as a center with St. Jean, Laval, and Verdun from 1988-92. He registered 15-43-58 and 103 penalty minutes in 252 career games. Vincent helped Verdun win the QMJHL championship and reach the Memorial Cup tournament in 1991-92. Following a season with the ECHL’s Knoxville Cherokees, he transitioned to his coaching career.
