Patrick Maroon is an American professional ice hockey left winger, playing for the Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL. Born on April 23, 1988, in St. Louis, Missouri, he developed a passion for hockey at a young age, playing for local teams before earning a spot in junior leagues. Despite being overlooked in early drafts due to his weight, Maroon proved his skill, leading to his selection by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2007 NHL Draft (161st overall).

Over his career, Maroon has played for several NHL teams, including the Anaheim Ducks, Edmonton Oilers, New Jersey Devils, St. Louis Blues, Tampa Bay Lightning, Minnesota Wild, and Boston Bruins. He won three consecutive Stanley Cups, first with the Blues in 2019 and then with the Lightning in 2020 and 2021.

Pat Maroon is married to Francesca Vangel, a fellow St. Louis native. Francesca's family owns the well-known St. Louis restaurant, Charlie Gitto's. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the couple supported their local community by distributing food from the restaurant to the Clayton, Missouri Police and Fire Departments. In October 2021, they welcomed their daughter Goldie. Maroon also has a son Anthony who is from a previous relationship.

While Francesca Vangel is not the biological mother of Maroon’s son Anthony, she has played a significant role in his life and Maroon’s journey as a professional hockey player. She frequently traveled with Anthony so he could visit his father while he played in various cities as per ESPN.

Beyond her role as a supportive partner, Francesca helped Maroon with his fitness transformation, assisting him with meal preparation when he was improving his conditioning. She was also actively involved in Maroon’s decision-making process during his free agency period in 2018. Notably, she developed a strong relationship with New Jersey Devils GM Ray Shero, exchanging memes and messages with him while Maroon was recovering from back surgery.

She also encouraged him to explore new opportunities beyond hockey, helping him prepare for a future after his playing career. When Maroon was offered a chance to join ESPN’s NHL All-Star Weekend broadcast team, he was initially hesitant, because he had to miss Anthony’s hockey tournament in nearby West Palm Beach. However, it was Francesca who pushed him to step out of his comfort zone and give it a try, as per DailyFaceOff.
