Patrick Kane is a professional ice hockey right winger in the NHL. As of December 2024, he is playing for the Detroit Red Wings. The Chicago Blackhawks selected Patrick in the 2007 NHL Entry draft and he played with the team for over 15 years. In 2023, Kane was traded to the New York Rangers along with young prospect Cooper Zech. In exchange, the Wings received a conditional second-round pick, a fourth-round pick, and Andy Welinski.

His hockey career started with the Buffalo Saints 14U AAA hockey club and he advanced to 16U AAA hockey club. Patrick relocated to Detroit, Michigan, when he was 14 to play for the Honeybaked Hockey Club. He entered the NHL in 2007 and soon marked his impact with the Chicago Blackhawks. Patrick is the first American-born player to win the Hart Trophy and the Art Ross Trophy. He was named among the 100 greatest players in the NHL and also became the youngest player in the NHL to play in 1,000 regular season points.
