Ahead of the NHL trade deadline, Patrick Kane has created headlines, has had bombshell interviews, and more.

The Chicago Blackhawks star is having the worst statistical season of his career, and the Hawks are looking to make a move. Kane has a no trade clause, which means he will decide the final destination. Let’s take a look at the possible teams and deals where Kane could land up at.

Five possible trade destinations for Patrick Kane

Here are the five teams:

#1 Toronto Maple Leafs

After the Vladimir Tarasenko trade, this would be the next logical choice. Kane wants to be there, as he grew up just over the border. The Leafs are all in on this group of players, and Kane would be the perfect deadline blockbuster to give the Leafs a boatload of momentum.

With no second-round pick to trade, the Leafs are in the beneficial position of knowing that they are where Kane wants to be. It would require a large package to get past the cap crunch, but the Maple Leafs are in the best position out of any other team to land Kane.

#2 New York Rangers

Can the Rangers do it again? Patrick Kane seemed pretty disappointed when the Tarasenko deal went down. If the Rangers want to come out of the NHL trade deadline the biggest winner, this would be the biggest and loudest way to do it.

Over half the Rangers roster has no trade clauses, so the type of deals the Rangers will have to make will be limited. The benefit for New York is that Kane clearly favors them. If the Blackhawks want to get any value out of their star, they might have to settle for a lowball offer from the Rangers.

#3 Vegas Golden Knights

It’s almost destined to happen. In the years since entering the league, Vegas has, successfully and unsuccessfully, bought big at the deadline.

They don't have a second-round pick this year and literally have no cap space whatsoever. Formulating a trade for Patrick Kane would be tricky, but the Knights and Blackhawks have made big deals before.

#4 Minnesota Wild

The Wild have been floundering recently and need a major spark. Patrick Kane could provide that and more. Kirill Kaprizov’s game has often been compared to Kane’s, and it would be interesting to see the two gel. Kane could likely fill in on the Wild’s second line along with Matt Boldy.

The Wild have to avoid dealing their first-round pick, though. A second and a prospect might be able to get it done. The biggest issue would be the cap crunch for the Wild. The Blackhawks would have to take responsibility for a large chunk of Kane’s contract, which could cost Minnesota.

#5 New Jersey Devils

If you can’t go to the Rangers, why not head across the river to their biggest rival? The Devils are in dire need of scoring help to take advantage of a brilliant defensive season. With young players like Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier playing out of their minds, Patrick Kane could be a key contributor

As far as possible trades are concerned, the Blackhawks would certainly require substantial draft capital and a prospect. To facilitate a trade, Tomas Tatar could be sent to Chicago. If the Devils can avoid dealing a first-round pick, it would be a win.
